Taiwanese Chunghwa Telecom Seeks Microsoft Assistance on IPTV

Chunghwa Telecom Company Ltd. of Taiwan has collaborated with Microsoft Corp. to facilitate it further fabricate its IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) potential as it improves its system & gives new services.

The largest telecom company of the island said that it would make use of Microsoft’s CSF (Connected Services Framework) & connected tools to manufacture its services. The new plan will see upgradation by Chunghwa’s Internet Television (Internet TV) from the present MPEG-2 supported systems, which consumers get on their digital set-top boxes manufactured via alliance with Alcatel SA & Acer Inc.

IPTV, often considered by fixed-line providers a chance to make revenue & pre-empt landline users opting for mobile, is on a rising stage globally, but it’s rapidly becoming a reality of existence in China.
